More Therbur Pictures

Therbur Barry Update

We haven't posted much on this blog recently because we have been rather busy trying to take care of Therbur. He can be kind of a handful sometimes, but he is learning very quickly and is a very good puppy.

He has been growing like crazy. When we first got him, he weighed about 8 lbs. and now he weighs about 22 lbs. That is 14 lbs. in 4 weeks! He can now sit and wait. We are working on shake and come, and he is almost potty trained. Sometimes he gets excited and has an accident, but most of the time, he will go to the door when he needs to go.

Here are some pictures:

Therbur Barry

Over the past few months if you haven't heard KayDee talking about her then fictitious St. Bernard, you were either under a rock, or as I had, you started tuning her out. (Just kidding, baby. I love you.) Well, her dreams (she literally dreamed about him) have come true. We are on the verge of getting the big, lovable St. Bernard named Therbur Barry. Actually, he isn't so large right now because he is only a puppy, but when full grown, he will be about as big as KayDee. We are very excited for his arrival, and we are very anxious to let everyone see him.

At first, I'm sure we'll get a lot of questions about his name, so let me put that matter to rest. His first name, Therbur, was the name of Janis Joplin's dog, and Barry is arguably the most famous St. Bernard of all time. He was credited with saving over 40 people while he worked as a rescue dog at the Great St. Bernard pass.

At first you may want to bring over your own puppies to meet him, but we need to wait until he has all of his shots before we can let him around other dogs. For the sake of getting him accustomed to other animals, we hope that when he is fully inoculated you will bring your puppies to visit.

We have already bought his crate, and as you can see from the picture, we got the biggest one they had! Becky, KayDee, Gangus, Rosie, and Bubba all fit inside at the same time. The perfect size for a full grown St. Bernard.
